Meet Andrea Hope, owner of Kiama Art Gallery (seen here in Paris).
Andrea Hope has been an art collector of Modern European and Australian art (particularly works on paper) for many years, including whilst travelling to France and Italy. She particularly loves form and design, including simple line drawings as well as colour in harmony.
She has been fortunate to discover beautiful 20's French and German fashion designs in pochoir (hand painted stencils) and textile designs from the late 1800's to the early 1900's, which are not commonly found in Australia, and which are becoming increasingly difficult to source.
She has also collected a number of publications from that era, which contain wonderful lithographs and other plates and illustrations.
Australia also has an intriguing art story to tell about the early 1900's, with many of our great printmakers and painters being women, who have only recently become recognised to the level deserved. She enjoys conducting Art Appreciation programs and talks for those who share an interest in art in Europe and Australia, and writes on-line courses and blogs about art.

She has served also on the Kiama Arts Society committee and has acted as a judge of art shows in the local area, and is strongly committed to supporting the local arts community.
